A year after Les Barbares, Lavilliers, surrounding himself with a new team of musicians with whom he would work regularly thereafter, including bassist Pascal Arroyo, keyboardist François Bréant and percussionist Dominique Mahut, recorded this fifth album at Barclay Studios, located 9 avenue Hoche, in Paris. The cover shows Lavilliers in a tank top on a black background holding a boxing glove and wearing a necklace around his neck.
Lavilliers said of this album, considered musically accomplished, that it was "the first time there was a group sound". It quickly became a veritable manifesto for all youth.
According to the French edition of Rolling Stone magazine, this album is the 62nd best French rock album.
It was certified gold for more than 100,000 copies sold, becoming Lavilliers' first major commercial success.
